The Case of 'Sant Rampal'

A typical case for which I made this blog - the stupidity of people; because of which our nation is not able to progress.

Know Rampal and The Case

Rampal, a self-styled godman, was born in a village in Sonepat District in Haryana. He had a small ashram with as many as 24 followers. By 2006 he become a little famous as he came across a rival - 'The Arya Samaj' due to an incident. The two rival groups - The followers of Rampal and The Arya Samaj; clashed and some people were killed and approximately hundred injured. He was accused in a case in Rohtak, Haryana for these killings. But he being in Hisar, Haryana didn't go for the hearing in the Rohtak Court. The court made Rampal video conference from Hisar with the judge in Rohtak. By this time, Rampal had thousands of followers. These followers on a day of video conferencing blocked the Hisar Court and stopped any person, even advocates, from entering the court. This report was submitted by the sessions court to the High Court of Punjab and Haryana and another case against Rampal was admitted - a case for criminal contempt. For this case, he was summoned to appear in the High Court, but he didn't appear.

Rampal didn't appear on any date for the case. The government employed forces of many companies. The Chandigarh Police, Punjab Police and Haryana Police too have shelled out thousands and maybe lakhs to prevent any violent actions from the same group which blocked the court. And there is no sign why Rampal is not appearing or why is he not showing up! 

Isn't this stupidity? If Rampal would have appeared before, maybe the case would have already been disposed? Why to shell lakhs, stop traffic and disturb people? These followers are destructing the way to progress. These killings, damage to public property would not let our country grow!

So people, please stop this stupidity. Be wise. Don't disturb the nation for someone; at least for people who claim to be godmen. If the man is innocent, he will be considered innocent by the court. But then why these protests and the violent actions? Let the nation progress, please!
